Dating back to 1933 (earlier than this, but this is when the first car was produced and put in a show), the BMW Grilles have been a symbol of the brand, a symbol of luxury. We offer BMW grill upgrades in matte black and piano black, directly replacements for your factory kidneys.

A great thing about all of the grille replacements that we carry is you will never get any pitting or chipping, as you can see in the detailed pictures, our grilles are full plastic replacements, no painted parts or covers, or coatings like the BMW grilles that chip and yellow over time.

BMW Grille Installation

As always, our BMW accessories include public, free to use, not password protected, installation guides. Since the parts fit in the OEM places the installation is essentially the same as the removal of your factory grilles. We rarely have any customers have problems with installation as long as they follow our easy to understand and well-detailed DIY guides. Remember, patience is key!

BMW grilles come in two pieces, the inner slats, and the outer ring, they are to be separated, and then reattached by putting one side in the inside of the hood while its open, and lining it up with the front surround. The grilles may be high quality ABS plastic, but at the end of the day, plastic is plastic, and you /need/ to be at least a little gentle with them. If it's cold outside try to heat them up with a hair dryer first, this gives them a little more tug room. Now push the two pieces together evenly around all of the clips, with the inner slat on the inside of the hood, and the outer pushed against the front part of the hood. Be sure to distribute pressure evenly, and make sure all the clips have slid into place. You're done!

Why should I upgrade my BMW's Grilles?

Our replacement kidney's for the front of your BMW are made from high quality and long lasting ABS plastic. Some consider our grilles to be the 'sport' editions, which BMW didn't make until recently (they call them BMW Performance Grilles), and are also available in color matched paint, to blend perfectly with your BMW. Our grilles are direct replacements, including the outer ring and the inner slats, no extra parts necessary.

Replace your stock chipped grilles

You would think with the BMW grilles being so appealing and unique only to BMW, that BMW would figure out a way to make them last. The truth is they do not, as you may already know the kidneys (and side gills) that come with your car, after about 50k miles, will start to pit and chip, showing the exposed ugly plastic below them. This is the most common reason people upgrade their grilles, the other is that they have a sport package which has shadowline trim around the windows, why not match that black with your grilles?

So these grilles won't chip?

Our BMW grilles are entire high quality ABS plastic assemblies, so they are not able to chip or pit like the OEM counterparts... there physically is no way they can chip. You can try to touch up the chrome, or paint them with cheap matte black paint, but there is NO replacement like ours. We offer painted grilles for those who appreciated the minor details on their car, and even those are professionally prepped, primed, and painted - no chips either!

What are they called again?

People all over the world have different terms used for these iconic pieces, we simply call them Grilles. Even the fender grilles on the E46 and E90 M3's can be replaced. Some call those fender gills, fender grilles, side grilles, etc, but we just call them gills.
