BMW bumper fitment and materials

Our BMW bumpers are made from ridiculously high quality molds, so the installations will leave you with OEM fitment, not huge gaps and misaligned fenders. As long as they are installed properly, you will have OE fitment. We have a lot of customers do the bumper install in their driveways with great results, but if you are unsure of how well you are able to do it, just bring it to a shop, I know most shops say they refuse to work with aftermarket bumpers, we have received incredible feedback about ours, directly from the professionals. We expect nothing but the best for our cars, so we sell nothing but the best to our customers.

An important aspect in choosing the front bumper or rear bumper for your BMW is the material. The material of the front bumper or rear bumper not only effects the finish and the durability, but the longevity too.

What material should my BMW Bumper be?

• A fiberglass front or rear bumper will chip or damage the first time you scrape. Also, due to the nature of fiberglass, it often cannot be made to fit as well as other bumpers. Fiberglass is only used now by the super cheap and 'old news' manufacturers and vendors.
• An ABS Plastic front bumper or rear bumper is an okay solution. A little more rigid than other materials, this makes it less suitable for a front bumper, which will be scraped and hit, but ideal for a BMW rear bumper, which never sees any impact. We use ABS plastic in most of our trim on the bumpers themselves: impact strips, grilles, etc.
• A PolyPropylene (PP) front or rear bumper is very flexible and easy to paint. While PP is often used for spoilers due to it's density, we find it is perfect for bumpers. The high flex makes installation a breeze, you can literally push it where it needs to go, secure it, and it will stay without warping or bending, even if it's painted.
• Ideally, your rear or front bumper should be made of PolyUrethane. This is the choice for OEM BMW bumpers, as well as the highest quality manufactures (BumperMW). PolyUrethane is a triple-threat: Lightweight, durable, and flexible. The body kits and bumpers we offer for BMW are made of PolyUrethane unless noted otherwise.
